  I've been so blessed to have attended Porter for my whole life! Porter has such a strong focus on worship, missions, and community that shows itself in various ministries! Porter Student Ministry, in particular, has helped me in my teen years to grow in my faith and to live it out.

  Would STRONGLY not recommend this church to any families in the Lexington/Nicolasville area. The senior pastor is a great man and a great speaker, but that's about only good thing here. Their youth group, PSM, is very unwelcoming and unfriendly to newcomers. My oldest son told me that no one in the group spoke to him and that the youth pastor, Joseph, was arrogant, rude, and almost bully-like. He said that he felt that he was pressured to do many things he felt uncomfortable with, such as the youth pastor constantly nagging him to be baptized when he didn't feel like he was ready for such a big commitment yet. He always felt very left out since me and my wife both have full time jobs and could not take him to every youth activity, something that the youth pastor also nagged him about. He also spoke about some youth leader named Chris, saying that he was very rude and un-Christ like. I definitely question whether or not these people should work with kids for a living. Might recommend to adults without kids, but families with teens BE WARNED.

  I love Porter! This church helps everyone become better believers in Christ. It helps reveal that we all have a special gift that can be used to accomplish many goals. This church has helped me grow stronger in faith and has brought me out of my shell.

  Porter Memorial Baptist Church is a wonderful church that seeks to serve the Lord by reaching the community and the world for Christ. God's Word is used as the sole authority of the messages that are brought by Pastor Bill Henard. Porter truly is a "home for your heart" and it's very apparent that their claim to have a "heart for the world" is completely true. God is blessing Porter Memorial Baptist Church, and I hope you'll come and be a part of what God is doing!
